Amnesty
Rick, the senate bill will not be brought to the House for a vote, so Blaine Luetkemeyer will never have an opportunity to vote for or against the bill that just passed the senate.
John Boehner has said he will not bring anything to the floor that a majority of Republicans do not support so the senate bill is DOA.
Instead, House Republicans are working on their own approach in the Judiciary committee, and those may be brought to the House floor for a vote.
There are things we need to fix here, like the border.
Instead of amnesty, please imagine that we came up with a program so tough that people would rather stay on their side if the border instead of coming here and signing up. Imagine in your mind jail time and massive fines and community service and whatever other punishments you think are appropriate for those that broke the law. In your own mind, your own punishment. That should not be called amnesty (which means "pardon"). If it still feels that way make it tougher in your own mind.
Make it so tough people do not want to go through it unless they really love this country enough to pay extreme penalties for breaking the law.
Make them pay those penalties then send them to the END if the line. Nobody got away with anything. Those who did it right need not pay those penalties. Nobody is encouraged to come here to take advantage of that deal.
Then if people are caught here not part of the program do not deport them give them 10 years in US jail, along with their employer.
That program in your head is not amnesty, but paying a penalty. The House will be considering this issue, then compromising with the senate.
Instead of just saying NO AMNESTY, we should tell them what is in our heads. Come up with ideas and communicate.
Fix the border first.
